'Schlitz Malt Liquor: The Beer That Made Milwaukee Famous.' This non-alcoholic version of the brew was commissioned for billboards destined for a country in the Arabian Gulf that prohibited the sale and drinking of alcohol.

A 'Harvestman' (phalangium opilia) preening herself. Note the hitchhiker on one of her legs! Harvestmen are not spiders, but do come from the same arachnid family.

Places 36 - The Necropolis at Olympos.


This second century AD tomb of Aurelius Artemias' family is dedicated to the goddess, Alcestis (or Alkestis). The worn reliefs of the figure of Nike sit on each of the four corners, the figure of Eros and garlands of flowers are seen representing the four seasons. Artemias and her husband can be seen saying their farewells before entering the afterlife, and a club bearing Hercules is also represented standing beside a veiled Alcestis.

The Poinsettia plant is known in modern Turkey as 'Ataturk Cicegi', or Ataturk's Flower (Mustapha Kemal Ataturk being the founder of the modern Turkish Republic).
